Vultures were released in free environment from Rajabhatkhawa breeding center

On Friday, the Buxa Forest Department released total of 20 vultures from the Rajabhatkhawa breeding center. It is reported that 13 of them are white back breeds and 7 are Himalayan griffon breeds bred in the Rajabhatkhawa breeding center. The Bombay Natural History Society has taken up the initiative of breeding vultures that have disappeared from the environment to maintain the balance of the environment.

After that, the vulture breeding project was launched in the Rajabhatkhawa forest of the Buxa Forest Department. In 2019, the first experimental open sky collar ID (PTT) release of vultures was conducted at the Rajabhatkhawa Vulture Breeding Centre. After that, the forest department monitors their movements. The forest department released the Himalayan griffon vulture in the open sky for the fourth time due to the success of those tests.
