Walmart Vriddhi surpasses 50,000 MSME milestone, fuels digital retail revolution

Walmart announces the unprecedented success of its supplier development endeavor, Walmart Vriddhi, as it surpasses its ambitious target of empowering over 50,000 Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) within just five years. Since its inception in December 2019, this transformative program has provided MSMEs across India with invaluable resources, including free training, mentorship, and digital tools, facilitating seamless integration into domestic supply chains.

In strategic collaboration with Swasti, Walmart Vriddhi strategically leverages Flipkart’s platform prowess, enabling MSMEs to access a vast consumer base exceeding 500 million nationwide. The program has garnered significant support from states like Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and Assam, exemplified by signed Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) aimed at enhancing MSME capacity-building.

During the challenging landscape of the pandemic, Walmart Vriddhi emerged as a beacon of resilience, aiding MSMEs in transitioning to digital retail seamlessly. This accomplishment underscores Walmart’s steadfast commitment to fostering inclusive economic growth and propelling India’s burgeoning MSME sector towards digital transformation and sustainable success. The program’s efficacy is further evidenced by inspiring success stories like Europhil, Pavika Organics, and Samakhya Sustainable Alternatives, each witnessing substantial growth and market expansion.
