Before going down against England in the semi-finals, team India? Who will play? Rishabh Panth or Dinesh Karthik? Rishabh Pant got his first chance against Zimbabwe in the current World Cup. However, he could not take advantage of the opportunity, but most experts demand that Panth should be played in the knockout.
India captain Rohit Sharma finally opened up about the issue. Taking part in the press conference on Wednesday, he said, “Rishabh was the only one who did not get a chance except for the two warm-up matches against Western Australia in Perth before the Zimbabwe match. But both these games were unofficial matches. That’s why we wanted to give him at least one chance. I also wanted to create options for the team. So that one or two changes can be made in the semi-final or final if necessary.”
Hitman further explained, “It would be unfair to drop a cricketer suddenly without any preparation. That’s what we thought. Although we have told every cricketer in the team, they can be played at any time. And that’s how they should be prepared.”
