Why can the Indian team change against Bangladesh?

India changed the XI for the first time after reaching the Super 8. Kuldeep Yadav has been replaced by Mohammad Siraj against Afghanistan in the T20 World Cup on Thursday. India got the result of playing three spinners. They beat Afghanistan by 47 runs. However, Rohit Sharma indicated that the team may change in the next match against Bangladesh.

After the match, Rohit said that they would take a decision after looking at the pitch and the situation. There is no guarantee that three spinners will play every match just because it is being played in the West Indies. Rohit said, “We have to take a decision based on the situation. We can make any changes to the team by seeing the opponent. I thought it would be better to play three spinners in this match. So I played. I can also play three pacers in the next match if needed.”

India has played a few T20 matches in the West Indies in the last two years. Rohit thinks that they have gotten the result. It has been helpful to understand the situation. Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya batted well in the middle overs against Afghanistan. Rohit praised the two batsmen. The Indian captain said, “Their pair worked. Run at the end. 181 runs is not less on this pitch.”

Apart from the batsmen, Rohit also praised the team’s bowlers. He spoke about Yashpreet Bumrah in particular. Rohit said, “I believed that the bowlers would win the team. Boomers are our wealth. Whenever I give him the ball, he takes wickets. Boomers love to take responsibility. So you have to use it wisely. That’s what I tried to do in this match.”
