Womens’ Kabaddi League (WKL) would be organized this year in the city of Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). This is India’s first Womens’ Kabaddi League which will begin on 16th June at 6:00 pm with a grand opening ceremony and will be followed by 12 days of exciting 31 matches. 120 women Kabaddi players from across India will showcase their sports talent in this league. All the matches will be held at the ‘Shabab Al-Ahli’ sports club in Dubai.
The Womens’ Kabaddi League is an important step towards encouraging women to play Kabaddi. Players will be mentored and guided by internationally renowned coaches, providing a world class platform for them to prove their talent.
Kabaddi is a sport that began in Punjab and Tamil Nadu and is now played across the world in Canada, Pakistan, Iran and many other countries. WKL will be hosted at Shabab Al-Ahli sports club, with live coverage on Doordarshan Sports and Euro Sports. Director and CEO Pradeep Kumar Nehra said, “All the matches will be played in Dubai for which excitement is at its peak among sports lovers and players.”
