ABD’s Rangapur plant wins Telangana’s Best Factory Award, boosts manufacturing credentials

Allied Blenders and Distillers Limited (ABD) has secured the Best Factory/Management Award for its integrated manufacturing facility at Rangapur in Wanaparthy district, Telangana. The honour was conferred by the Labour, Employment, Training & Factories Department during International Labour Day celebrations on May 1, 2026, recognising excellence in manufacturing and management practices.

The Rangapur unit is one of ABD’s key production hubs, comprising an Extra Neutral Alcohol (ENA) distillery, an IMFL bottling unit, and a PET bottle manufacturing plant commissioned in September 2025. The integrated setup allows tighter control over production cycles, costs, and supply chain logistics. The company is also planning a malt distillery at the site to strengthen its premium portfolio and build single malt capabilities.

With a workforce of around 1,500 employees, the facility stands out for its gender diversity, with women accounting for nearly 50% of staff. The plant has generated significant employment opportunities in the region, contributing to local economic development and skill-building.

The award, aligned with the Skill India Mission, followed a detailed evaluation of safety standards, statutory compliance, employee welfare, and CSR initiatives.

In Kolkata, ABD’s manufacturing strength is expected to support steady supply and distribution efficiency in eastern India. Industry observers note that improved logistics and production integration could help the company strengthen its presence in the Kolkata market, particularly in the premium spirits segment where demand continues to rise.
