Abhay Deol on downside of growing up as a Deol, told he was bullied in school: ‘I hated fame’

Abhay Deol, who is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film Bun Tikki, also starringShabana Azmi and Zeenat Aman, in one of his recent Instagram posts talked about growing up as a person with low self-confidence, who was Was threatened by them.
“I was a very low-confidence, underachieving, bullied kid. No one had any expectations from me nor did I inspire confidence in anyone. But that’s the beauty of life, anything is possible, so never stop learning,” read an excerpt from her post, which was accompanied by a dazzling photo of the actor with the Ban Tikki cast and director Faraz Arif Ansari.
After making her debut with Socha Na Tha, and working in films like Dev D, Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!, Manorama Six Feet Under, among others, at the age of 47, Abhay has no complaints about his struggle with bullying and hatred of fame. “Fame was on a different level. I mean, I was a kid in the 80’s. Before the advent of technology, access to a whole world of travel, knowledge and entertainment.
And so the kind of celebrity worship that was there at that time, I saw it with my uncle [Dharmendra]. And then when bhaiya [Sunny Deol] was launched in the early 80s, I saw this crazy fame around him,” he told Dirty Magazine in a recent interview.
