Amazon Now brings delivery-in-minutes service to Burdwan

Amazon has launched its delivery-in-minutes service, Amazon Now, in Burdwan, expanding access to tens of thousands of products across grocery, personal care, fashion, beauty, home and kitchen, small appliances and other categories.

The service offers quick delivery of everyday essentials, with fruits and vegetables, milk, bread, cooking oil, ghee, biscuits and confectionery among popular products in Burdwan. Amazon said demand is also growing for premium chocolates, personal care and home care products, indicating a preference for premium offerings alongside routine household purchases.

“Amazon Now has crossed $1 billion in annualized gross sales in India, with orders doubling every quarter since launch,” said Srikant Sree Ram, Everyday Essentials. He added that the company plans to expand the service to 100 cities by Diwali.

In Burdwan, the launch could strengthen the emerging quick-commerce segment by offering consumers faster access to both daily necessities and premium products. The mix of essential grocery and higher-value categories could also encourage more digital purchasing among urban households and support greater competition in local retail delivery.

Amazon Now has expanded to more than 60 cities and towns, supported by over 750 micro-fulfilment and urban fulfilment centres. The company said customers can receive Amazon Now deals during the Amazon Great Indian Festival beginning October 8, while Prime members can get additional savings. Availability can be checked through the ‘Now’ banner on the Amazon shopping app.
