Arunachal Conducts Inaugural State-Level Mathematics Olympiad

A State-Level Math’s Olympiad was organized by the Department of Youth Affairs, Government of Arunachal Pradesh at the State Banquet Hall, Itanagar on Monday. The landmark event marks the first-ever State-level Mathematics Olympiad organized by the Department, aimed at fostering analytical thinking and academic rigor among the youth of the state. The competition commenced with a rigorous preliminary round on March 22, which saw enthusiastic participation from 80 students representing various educational institutions across Arunachal Pradesh.

Following a high-stakes evaluation, the top four participants advanced to the Grand Finale held on Monday. The final round witnessed a display of exceptional mathematical prowess, with Thupten Eton, currently pursuing M.Sc. in Mathematics (second semester) at Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU), Doimukh crowned the winner. Gama Dodum Gyamar, a third-year Civil Engineering student (2nd Semester) from NERIST came second place. The third place went to Marto Nyodu, a Class 12 student representing Eleazer English School. The achievers were honoured with cash prizes, trophies, and certificates of merit in recognition of their logical precision and dedication to the subject. Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu lauded the winners of the maths Olympiad. “Your hard work and analytical excellence have set a remarkable benchmark for your peers,” Khandu took to social media to state.
