An order issued by the Itanagar Municipal Corporation (IMC) on March 31, 2026, also prohibits the issuance of new trade licenses for eateries that include any meat type in their names. The directive, signed by IMC Joint Commissioner Datum Gadi, highlights concerns over establishments obtaining trade licenses using business names that specifically mention certain animal meats.
