Assam five constituencies begins first phase of Lok Sabha polling

First phase of Lok Sabha election, 2024 begins today, 19 April. For five seats in Lok Sabha, Assam beings in its constituencies Dibrugarh, Jorhat, Kaziranga, Lakhimpur and Sonitpur. Ahead of the polling, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma to encourage young voters shares a post on X.

Sarma wrote, “Today is the first phase of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. I urge all those voting today to vote in record numbers. Your one vote will shape India’s development trajectory in the years to come. I also hope first-time voters vote enthusiastically.”

The five seats of Assam is primarily led by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for BJP. Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP President J P Nadda also addressed public gatherings in Assam.
