China Urges Peaceful Talks On Long-Standing Border Dispute With India

China acknowledged on Monday that the border dispute with India is complex and will take time to resolve, but expressed willingness to continue talks on delimitation and maintain peace. During a meeting in Qingdao on June 26, Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh proposed to Chinese counterpart Dong Jun a structured roadmap to de-escalate tensions and revive border demarcation mechanisms. China’s Foreign Ministry said both sides have diplomatic and military channels and urged continued dialogue.
