NIRF’s ‘India Ranking 2020’: IIT-G Grabs 7th Position, GU at 72

GUWAHATI: The Education Minister of India Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' announced National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) Indian Rankings for Indian institutes on June 11, 2020. The ranks which were initially scheduled to be announced in April got delayed due to COVID-19 pandemic. In the overall ranking, IIT Guwahati stood at the 9th place in 2019 and 12th position in 2018.This year, 7 more institutions of Assam made it to the top. Assam : Massive Fire at Baghjan Oil Well.

A massive fire has engulfed a natural-gas producing well of Oil India Limited (OIL) in upper Assam's Tinsukia district, that has been leaking gas for the last 14 days. Smoke from the fire, that began this afternoon, can reportedly be seen from 10 km away and locals claim it has spread to nearby villages. Three experts from Singaporean firm Alert Disaster Control were at the blowout site and some equipment was being removed when the fire broke out in the afternoon. Assam Board SEBA HSLC 10th Result 2020

A total of 1.11 lakh (1,11,935) students secured above 80 per cent in HSLC exam. With 64.80 per cent, the pass percentage improved from last year which was 60.23 per cent. In 2018, the pass percentage was 56.04 per cent, while 47.94 per cent in 2017, and 62.79 per cent in 2016.
