Assam’s new criminal laws: ‘Speedy justice rather than only punishment’

Three new criminal laws to be implemented in Assam from July 1, 2024 which will emphasize on providing speedy justice rather than punishment. Continuous heavy rainfall in Assam has effected many villages in Assam due to rising of rain water within the state. A fresh report by Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA), around 3,90,491 people were affected by the flood with rising death toll to 27. Charge sheet filed against culprits connected to APSC job scam in Assam

Assam CM aims to enhance state’s power generation capacity & reduce reliance on purchases

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in a joint venture with the Assam Power Generation Corporation and Oil India Limited has laid the foundation stone for a 25-MW solar power generation project at Namrup Thermal Power Station in Dibrugarh district. Assam Congress takes legal action against five MLAs

The state unit of Congress party, Bhupen Borah has said that Assam Congress is keen to disqualify five MLAs from the party for openly support BJP without any resignation.
