Bajaj Electricals Eyes Major Growth Pivot Starting FY27

The company’s journey is a testament to Indian industrial resilience. What began in 1938 as the acquisition of “Radio Lamp Works” by Kamalnayan Bajaj has evolved from a single-product distributor into a ₹5,000 crore market leader. Originally focused on distributing Italian-made radio lamps, the company was forced to pivot during World War II. Supply disruptions during the war led to the establishment of a local manufacturing facility in Shikohabad, eventually rebranding as Bajaj Electricals in 1960.

Today, the company operates across a diverse range of categories, but the focus is firmly on the future. Despite being a household name for decades, the brand is currently undergoing a strategic transformation. The goal is to streamline operations and enhance market penetration to match the rapid growth rates seen by newer competitors in the electrical goods space.

Chairman Shekhar Bajaj emphasizes that the foundation laid over the last century provides the stability needed for this next leap. By leveraging its extensive distribution network and storied brand heritage, Bajaj Electricals expects to see a significant performance uptick starting in FY27. For this century-old institution, the road ahead is about transforming legacy into modern market dominance.
