Bandhan Bank reports 11% business growth in Q1, net profit at Rs 502 crore

Bandhan Bank on Tuesday reported an over 11 per cent year-on-year growth in its total business for the first quarter of FY2026-27, with the figure crossing Rs 3.2 lakh crore, supported by steady expansion in advances and deposits. The private sector lender posted a net profit of Rs 502 crore during the quarter. The bank’s total loan book rose 16 per cent year-on-year to Rs 1.56 lakh crore, while total deposits increased 7 per cent to Rs 1.65 lakh crore. Retail deposits accounted for nearly 74 per cent of total deposits, while the Current Account and Savings Account (CASA) ratio stood at 29.4 per cent. Bandhan Bank also maintained a strong Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) of 18.2 per cent, well above the regulatory requirement.

Managing Director and CEO ParthaPratimSengupta said the quarterly performance reflected the bank’s resilience, customer confidence and the commitment of its workforce. He said the lender would continue to focus on customer-centric, digitally enabled growth by strengthening its distribution network, expanding product offerings and leveraging data-driven insights to drive sustainable long-term growth. The bank currently serves around 3.2 crore customers through nearly 6,400 banking outlets across 35 of India’s 36 states and Union Territories, supported by a workforce of more than 74,500 employees. It also reiterated its strategy of diversifying its asset base, expanding its retail portfolio and accelerating digital transformation to improve operational efficiency and customer experience.

In Agartala, Bandhan Bank’s continued expansion is expected to support greater access to banking services across Tripura, particularly in semi-urban and rural areas. Strong deposit growth and a wider retail lending focus could improve credit availability for small businesses, self-employed individuals and households in Agartala, while the bank’s emphasis on digital banking is likely to enhance customer convenience and strengthen financial inclusion in the region.
