Before the rural election, Bengal govt. has launched eight public service portal

Ahead of panchayat elections next year, the West Bengal government has launched eight public service portals for the benefit of people living in rural areas.

Becharam Manna, Minister for State, Panchayat and Rural Development Department, said while launching the portals on Thursday that the aim of the government is to bring transparency and speed to the services of the department.

The department revamped its website and introduced a 24/7 Panchayat Public Grievance Redressal System, an online building plan approval portal, and online booking of guest houses in rural areas to encourage tourism.
It has also launched a single-window portal to get reports on the progress of various rural projects, online PRI (Panchayati Raj Institution) services, e-PRI services, and a portal to monitor the status of cases pending with the department.
