In a move that redefines the travel experience, quick commerce giant Blinkit has officially landed at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport. Starting today, Terminal 2 is the first airport terminal globally to offer ultra-fast delivery services directly to passengers waiting at their gates. Whether you’ve forgotten a phone charger or need a last-minute gift, the solution is now just a few taps away. Blinkit CEO Albinder Dhindsa announced the milestone on Wednesday, confirming a strategic partnership with Adani Airports. This first-of-its-kind service is located specifically within the domestic departures area of Terminal 2.
Unlike traditional city deliveries that rely on two-wheelers, this unique operation utilizes a dedicated team of “walkers.” These delivery partners navigate the terminal on foot to bring products directly to travelers who have already cleared security. To maintain security protocols, the Blinkit store is situated past the security checkpoint. This means passengers can place their orders conveniently while waiting in the departure lounge, ensuring that forgotten essentials are delivered before they board their flight. This expansion comes on the heels of explosive growth for the Zomato-owned platform. Blinkit’s financial performance for the third quarter of FY2025-26 has been nothing short of remarkable. The company’s Net Order Value (NOV) surged by 120.9%, reaching ₹13,300 crore. Even more staggering is the revenue growth, which saw a 776.1% increase year-on-year, climbing to ₹12,256 crore. By integrating quick commerce into the aviation sector, Blinkit is not just expanding its market share; it is fundamentally changing how passengers spend their “dwell time” at the airport. As Mumbai leads the way with this global first, industry experts are already watching to see if this model will take flight in other major transit hubs across the country.
