BC Jindal Foundation has launched a major skill development push in Howrah to enhance employability among youth and women through industry-relevant vocational training. The initiative is being implemented through the “BC Jindal Skill Centre” at Belur and aims to train over 1,000 candidates annually from marginalized communities. In a move with significant economic implications, Walmart Vriddhi, through its programme partner Ideas to Impact Foundation, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Department of Industries, Commerce and Public Enterprises, Government of Assam, to accelerate growth and digital transformation of the state’s micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Bandhan Bank has enabled seamless State tax and non-tax payments for Assam through the Assam e-GRAS portal, allowing customers to make payments through both online and offline modes. The platform allows users to generate challans and log in using their registered mobile number or username to initiate payments. As many as 109 Bandhan Bank branches in Assam will assist customers in availing the facility.
