The National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) and All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) in collaboration with the Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology (IGIB) have done two separate studies which have shown that the Delta variant of COVID-19 can infect people who have received one or two jabs of either Covishield or Covaxin. In the AIIMS-IGIB study no death has been reported in the 63 subjects, but the study has found out that the Delta variant is predominant in the reinfection cases. The Assam government on Thursday opened a 300-bed Covid-19 hospital at  Sarusajai Stadium stadium complex in Guwahati to combat the ongoing pandemic. Which is constructed in 20 days . The hospital was built with the help of Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) with a cost of ₹21.46 cr.  The hospital has set up in an area of 3200 sq m and it has 200 beds in general ward with oxygen facility and 100 intensive care unit (ICU) beds.
