Sri Lanka lifts import restrictions on 286 items as economic woes eases

Sri Lanka , the island which has been suffering from economic breakdown since it's independence has removed import limits on around 300 items with immediate effect, the Finance Ministry said on Saturday. One of the financial institution International Monetary Fund aided Sri Lanka in encouraging it's foreign exchange reserves, the country also received USD 3 billion bailout package from the organisation. 'With the economy stabilising, import restrictions on 286 items have been lifted from Friday midnight,' the Finance Ministry said in a statement. Road accident death rate fell in Kerala after AI cameras started working

Kerala Transport Minister Antony Raju has claimed that since the introduction of artificial intelligence (AI) cameras, the death rate in road accidents has come down in the state. The AI cameras installed across the state became operational on June 5. "Kerala reports an average of 12 road accident deaths per day, but since the introduction of AI cameras, the number has come down to 5-8," Minister Raju said on Friday.
