Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, who also heads the excise department, was raided by the CBI these days for alleged corruption at the Center on liquor policy. The Aam Aadmi Party government denied the allegations.
The CBI searched Manish Sisodia’s house in Delhi and 31 different places across seven states. Mandatory approval to register corruption cases was given through Lt. Governor VK Saxena.
Sources stated for the duration of the 12-hour raid, the business enterprise officials seized confidential professional archives pertaining to the new excise coverage from the home of a public servant. The place of the seizure is but to be revealed. No money recuperation has been made so far. The searches are predicted to continue.
In its FIR, the CBI claimed that a liquor dealer has paid Rs 1 crore to an organization managed by means of an associate of Mr Sisodia. He is Number One in the listing of 15 people named in the FIR, filed on Wednesday.
Lieutenant Governor Saxena recommended a CBI probe following a document by the Delhi Chief Secretary alleging irregularities in Delhi’s new liquor policy. Under the policy introduced in November, the licenses of liquor shops have been overtaken by non-public players. The CBI has filed a first information report and is investigating the matter.
