Central Board of Secondary Education, CBSE Board Exams 2020 have not been cancelled. In the matter heard at the Supreme Court today, the national board sought for more time to decide. The board is expected to decide by tomorrow evening. The matter for the CBSE remaining board exams has been adjourned for the time being and would be heard on June 25. Students and parents may please note – the exams have not been cancelled.
While the petition has been filed in the Supreme Court, the CBSE Board has been asked for a solution i.e. how the exams would be conducted? After hearing the petition, the Supreme Court asked CBSE’s decision on June 17, 2020.
Speaking for the centre, SG Mehta informed the court that they were at an advanced stage of decision making and would be able to come to a definitive decision by tomorrow evening. The three judge bench comprising of Justice A.M. Khanwilkar, Dinesh Maheshwari and Sanjiv Khanna heard the case today and has given the board the asked for time. SG Mehta, appearing for the HRD Ministry shared that teh decision would be finalised by tomorrow – June 24. Supreme Court would hear the reply on Wednesday at 2 pm.
