Crude oil futures prices increase on spot demand

New Delhi: Crude oil prices rose by Rs 23 to Rs 5,550 per barrel in futures trade on Monday as participants increased their positions following strong spot demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, the price of crude oil for October delivery rose by Rs 23, or 0.42 percent, to Rs 5,550 per barrel with a turnover of 12,565 lots.

Analysts said that crude oil prices rose in futures trade as participants increased their positions.

Globally, West Texas Intermediate crude oil was trading 0.48 percent higher at $63.16 per barrel in New York, while Brent crude oil rose 0.57 percent to $67.06 per barrel.
