Mizoram’s Chief Secretary has directed all Deputy Commissioners to closely monitor the stock of LPG, petrol, and diesel, and to take necessary actions against black marketing, hoarding, and diversion of these commodities. This instruction followed a meeting with officials from the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, Deputy Commissioners, and Oil Marketing Companies, where it was confirmed that there is adequate stock in the districts. This meeting occurred after Prime Minister Narendra Modi convened discussions with Chief Ministers and Chief Secretaries to assess the distribution systems for these essential fuels. The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas is overseeing the national supply of LPG and petroleum products and has mandated State Governments to ensure vigilant supervision to avert regional shortages.
