In a tragic road accident in Yakung village, Anjaw District, Arunachal Pradesh, four individuals, including a four-year-old child, lost their lives, and three others sustained injuries. The incident occurred around 1 PM on Saturday, attributed to poor visibility due to fog and light rain, preventing the driver from adequately navigating the hill road. As a result, the Tata Yodha vehicle, which was carrying seven occupants including the driver—who is also the vehicle’s owner—plummeted into a roadside gorge. Among the deceased, three were identified as members of the same family. The local administration was informed of the accident late due to the challenging geographical conditions, prompting a search and rescue operation. The injured victims were subsequently transported to Tezu Zonal Hospital in the nearby Lohit district for enhanced medical care.
