The more confident Republican ‘star candidate’ Donald Trump defeated Nikki Haley in her home state of South Carolina primary by more than 20 percent of the vote. His supporters started referring to the former president by this name again after his big victory on Saturday.
In the South Carolina primary, Trump received 59 percent and Haley received 39 percent of the vote. Trump has won each of the four states that have previously held Republican primaries. From Indian-origin Vivek Ramaswamy to Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, everyone has dropped out of the fray one by one. Only one more of Indian origin remains nikki.
Nickey, the two-time governor of South Carolina, also lives in the state. He campaigned vigorously ahead of Saturday’s polls. He was America’s ambassador to the United Nations during Trump’s tenure.
