India reports massive daily spike rate of new cases

DCGI gives nod to Sun Pharma to market molnupiravir for COVID-19 treatment

On Tuesday Sun Pharma said, its subsidiary has received authorization for emergency use from the Drugs Controller General of India to manufacture and market a generic version of MSD and Ridgeback's antiviral drug molnupiravir under the brand name Molxvir in India. The recommended dose of the drug is 800 mg twice a day for five days.The duration of treatment of molnupiravir is much shorter compared to other therapies which is a significant advantage. Hero I-League has suspended for two weeks after covid-19 cases were reported inside the bio-secure bubble in Kolkata. At least 15 players have tested positive for the virus according to reports. COVID-19 Booster Dose guidelines for senior citizens

On Tuesday (December 28) Health Ministry of India informed that persons aged above 60 and those who have co-morbidities will not be required to produce or submit any certificate from the doctor for the booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. The Booster doses of COVID-19 vaccines will be available from January 10, 2022 for healthcare and front line workers and also for citizens above 60 years of age and people with co morbidities.

31 out of 54 Omicron patients discharged in Maharashtra

31 patients out of 54 who were infected with the new coronavirus variant Omicron in Maharashtra till now have been discharged from hospitals on Monday.
