ICICI Life Insurance plans 20,000 women advisor jobs, offering flexible careers without upfront investment

ICICI Life Insurance Limited has announced plans to recruit 20,000 women advisors across India by the end of FY2027, offering homemakers, salaried professionals and businesswomen an opportunity to build careers as financial planners under its Narishakti initiative.

Announced during Navratri, the recruitment drive marks the second anniversary of the initiative, launched in 2024 to empower women through training, professional support and flexible working schedules. The programme allows participants to pursue careers without upfront investment while balancing family responsibilities, gaining financial independence and helping families access insurance protection.

As of September 30, 2026, the company had more than 78,000 women advisors, who contributed around 45% of its agency business while accounting for approximately 32% of its total advisor base. Their contribution exceeded 50% in Bengaluru, Kerala and Mumbai. Nearly 47% of the company’s women advisors had been associated with it for more than 10 years.

Amish Banker, Chief Distribution Officer of ICICI Life Insurance Limited, said, “We, at ICICI Life Insurance, firmly believe that ‘Talent has no gender’.”

He highlighted women’s empathy, commitment, loyalty and problem-solving abilities as strengths in understanding customer requirements and building long-term relationships.

The company said the expansion would provide more women with professional opportunities while supporting the government’s vision of “Insurance for All by 2047” and strengthening insurance awareness and financial protection across India.
