Allied Blenders and Distillers Limited (ABD), India’s largest domestic spirits company by volume, on Monday announced that its flagship brand, ICONiQ White International Grain Whisky, has crossed 10 million cases (100 lakh cases) in FY26, marking a historic milestone in the high-margin Prestige & Above segment. The achievement comes within just 43 months of launch, positioning the brand among the fastest scale-ups globally.
Introduced in September 2022 through a digital-first debut on ABD’s MetaBar in the metaverse, the brand initially entered select markets in East and North India before expanding nationwide. Sales rose from 0.32 million cases in FY23 to 2.27 million in FY24, and further to 5.7 million in FY25. It was recognised as the world’s fastest growing millionaire spirits brand for calendar years 2023 and 2024, according to Drinks International’s Millionaires’ Club Reports.
The whisky has also expanded into Canteen Stores Department (CSD) channels and strengthened its global footprint across nine countries. ABD Managing Director Alok Gupta said the milestone validates the company’s vision of building a world-class whisky brand from India with strong consumer resonance.
In Kolkata, industry trends indicate rising demand for premium spirits, particularly among younger consumers. The eastern market, including Kolkata, has emerged as a key growth driver for ICONiQ White, supported by evolving lifestyle preferences and increasing traction in the Prestige & Above category.
