International Jawa-Yezdi Day strengthens Classic Legends’ community-led brand strategy

Classic Legends-backed International Jawa-Yezdi Day (IJYD) marked its 24th edition on July 12, reinforcing the company’s community-driven approach to building its iconic motorcycle brands. The annual celebration brought together more than 7,500 riders across over 150 cities in India and connected over 40 enthusiast communities, while extending its footprint to 11 countries through rides, community events and digital participation.

Observed on the second Sunday of July every year, IJYD has evolved from a grassroots initiative by Jawa and Yezdi owners into a global rider-led movement. This year’s edition saw vintage Jawa and Yezdi motorcycles sharing the roads with the latest models, underlining the continued relevance of heritage brands in India’s growing premium classic motorcycle segment. More than 40 Jawa-Yezdi rider clubs, dealerships and independent enthusiast groups collaborated to organise the celebrations, highlighting the strength of the brands’ customer engagement ecosystem.

AnupamThareja, Co-founder of Classic Legends, said the event has grown beyond a motorcycle gathering into a global tradition driven by riders, celebrating friendships, shared experiences and the enduring legacy of Jawa and Yezdi across generations.

Kolkata continues to be an important market for premium and heritage motorcycles in eastern India, supported by a vibrant network of riding clubs and vintage motorcycle enthusiasts. Industry observers believe community-led initiatives such as International Jawa-Yezdi Day help deepen customer loyalty, strengthen dealership engagement and generate sustained interest in classic motorcycle ownership. For Classic Legends, the eastern region, including Kolkata, offers significant opportunities to expand its premium lifestyle positioning as consumer demand increasingly shifts towards experience-led motorcycling and heritage-inspired brands.
