Janhvi Kapoor says she felt ‘disabled, paralyzed’ during recent hospitalization: ‘Wasn’t in a position to eat, speak or walk’

Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor was recently admitted to the hospital due to severe food poisoning. Janhvi was admitted to HN Reliance Hospital in South Mumbai on Thursday, a family source confirmed the news to Indianexpress.com. Recently, Zoom express that the Dhadak actor has been discharged from the hospital, while his father and producer Boney Kapoor confirmed to the outlet that “he is much better now.”
Janhvi, who is preparing for the release of Uljhan, recently talked about being hospitalized after experiencing a severe digestive immune disorder. Reflecting on this ordeal, Janhvi shares her experience and the importance of prioritizing well-being over work commitments.
A source close to Janhvi told Indianexpress.com that the actor returned to Mumbai from Chennai on Tuesday itself. Since she was feeling unwell on Wednesday, the actor opted to stay at home and rescheduled all her appointments. However, his condition deteriorated on Thursday, after which he was admitted to the hospital.
The Gunjan Saxena actor revealed that due to weak immunity, he traveled to Chennai for an event and he suspected that he might have eaten something contaminated at the airport. Initially, she thought it was a simple stomach worm, but test results revealed abnormal blood parameters. Once her stomach healed, she experienced severe body aches, weakness, chills, and “all kinds of things,” she says.
Recalling the “scary” experience that forced her to press the pause button, the 27-year-old said tests revealed her liver enzymes were through the roof, which naturally worried doctors. For three to four days, I was confined to the hospital while they ran tests to find out “what was wrong.” However, while hospitalized, she felt as if she was on a “hamster wheel” and only cared about “looking fit enough” to sing and meet deadlines.
She also recalled feeling ill, completely incapacitated, a few hours before the flight to Hyderabad. She said she felt “disabled” and “paralyzed” because she couldn’t even go to the bathroom on her own. For Janhvi, it was an alarm bell as her body demanded rest which she finally got in the hospital. She said she was in no condition to “speak” or “walk” or “even eat”.
The actor says the experience and ordeal has taught him that while career and appearance are important, his health is paramount, adding that one needs to “respect one’s body”, adding that career, Lust and pride are “fleeting” and all can pass away.
Janhvi, who resumed work on July 23, has a new respect for my well-being. Although she still feels “quite weak”, she is ready to give her all for her work commitments.
The actor was recently seen attending Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s wedding festivities that lasted for three days in Mumbai. Her boyfriend Shikhar Pahadia was also with her.
