JawaYezdi Motorcycles, in partnership with the Indian Army, has concluded the 1,900-km Shaurya Vijay Yatra at the Kargil War Memorial in Dras on Kargil Vijay Diwas, reinforcing its brand association with patriotism, heritage and adventure motorcycling. The expedition, which began at the National War Memorial in New Delhi, brought together serving and retired defence personnel, Veer Naris, families of Kargil martyrs and civilian riders to honour the courage and sacrifice of soldiers who fought in the 1999 Kargil War.
A defining feature of the expedition was the ceremonial transportation of sacred soil from the National War Memorial to the Kargil War Memorial, symbolically connecting generations of Indian soldiers. The convoy travelled through Himachal Pradesh and Ladakh, paying tribute at Chandimandir, Rezang La and the Leh War Memorial before reaching Dras. Flagged off by Defence Minister ShriRajnath Singh in the presence of senior military officials, veterans and invited guests, the journey was completed on the Jawa 350, Jawa 42, Jawa 42 FJ, Yezdi Adventure and Yezdi Scrambler motorcycles, showcasing their capabilities across high-altitude passes and challenging mountain terrain.
Since its launch in 2021, the Shaurya Vijay Yatra, conceptualised by JawaYezdi Motorcycles, has evolved into a civil-military initiative aimed at preserving the legacy of India’s armed forces by connecting the riding community with serving personnel, veterans, Veer Naris and families of martyrs. Classic Legends Co-founder AnupamThareja said the initiative seeks to ensure that the stories of India’s bravehearts continue to inspire future generations while promoting the values of courage, service and national pride.
The initiative is expected to enhance JawaYezdi Motorcycles’ visibility in Kolkata, one of eastern India’s key premium two-wheeler markets where demand for touring and adventure motorcycles has been steadily rising. By aligning its brand with a national tribute and the Indian Army, the company could strengthen customer engagement among motorcycle enthusiasts in the city, while supporting sales of its heritage-inspired and adventure-focused portfolio through deeper emotional connect and expanding interest in long-distance riding.
