Maruti Suzuki India Ltd on Friday launched the new Brezza Turbo Boosterjet, expanding its popular compact SUV portfolio with a performance-oriented variant aimed at young and aspirational buyers. The new model is available at an introductory starting price of ₹7.39 lakh (ex-showroom) and features a 997cc Turbo Boosterjet engine paired with a 6-speed manual transmission and Progressive Smart Hybrid Technology.
The company said the new Brezza has been designed to suit the evolving lifestyles of India’s youth, combining a bolder exterior, refreshed styling, advanced safety features and enhanced connectivity. The Turbo Boosterjet produces 81 kW of power and 170 Nm of torque, while delivering a claimed fuel efficiency of 20.47 kmpl. Alongside the turbo variant, Maruti Suzuki has also updated the K15C-powered Brezza with a new 6-speed manual transmission and retained the automatic option with paddle shifters. The S-CNG version now features an underbody CNG tank for uncompromised boot space and delivers a claimed 26.9 km/kg fuel efficiency.
Senior Executive Officer (Marketing & Sales) Partho Banerjee said the new Brezza has been developed to appeal to diverse customer personalities by offering both performance and practicality, while building on the model’s legacy of over 1.4 million customers. The updated SUV also introduces new safety technologies such as Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, Emergency Stop Signal and an enhanced 360-degree camera. Premium features include a 10.1-inch SmartPlay Pro X infotainment system, built-in Alexa, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, ventilated front seats and a 64-colour ambient lighting system.
The launch is expected to strengthen Maruti Suzuki’s position in Kolkata and eastern India, where compact SUVs continue to witness robust demand among young professionals and family buyers. With multiple powertrain options, including petrol, turbo and CNG, the new Brezza is likely to compete aggressively in the region’s fast-growing SUV segment, supported by Maruti Suzuki’s extensive dealership and service network across West Bengal.
