Kamalanagar-I Achieves 100% Voter Roll Digitisation

Lawngtlai District Election Officer (DEO) Donny Lalruatsanga on Monday held a review meeting with the Supervisor, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and Assistant Booth Level Officers (Asst. BLOs) of the 36-Tuichawng (ST) Assembly Constituency to assess the progress of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026 exercise. The meeting was held at the BDO Office of Chawngte Rural Development Block at 4 pm and focused on electoral roll revision, digitisation progress and preparations for the next stages of the revision process. Addressing the officials, Lalruatsanga appreciated the efforts of the Supervisor, BLOs and Assistant BLOs for their dedication and commitment in carrying out election-related responsibilities. He urged them to continue working with sincerity and diligence to ensure the successful completion of the exercise.

Highlighting the significance of the Special Intensive Revision 2026, the District Election Officer said the exercise is being conducted based on the 2005 SIR and plays a crucial role in maintaining an accurate and updated electoral roll. He stressed the need to ensure that all genuine Indian citizens eligible to vote are included in the electoral rolls while simultaneously preventing the inclusion of ineligible persons. The DEO advised officials to verify records carefully and perform their duties with utmost responsibility and attention to detail. Lalruatsanga informed the meeting that the digitisation process is scheduled to be completed by June 28, 2026. Following the completion of digitisation, the authorities will undertake the Claims and Objections phase, during which eligible voters can seek corrections, additions or deletions in the electoral roll. The final electoral roll will be published after the completion of this process. During the meeting, Booth Level Officers from different areas of the constituency submitted progress reports on digitisation work. According to the reports presented, digitisation has already been completed in Kamalanagar-I, achieving 100 per cent progress.

Officials reported that Kamalanagar-II has achieved 90 per cent digitisation, while Kamalanagar-III has completed 85 per cent of the work. Kamalanagar-IV has recorded 95 per cent completion, indicating significant progress across the constituency. The review meeting was aimed at ensuring that the electoral roll revision process remains on schedule and is completed in a transparent and efficient manner. Election officials reiterated their commitment to maintaining the accuracy of voter records and ensuring that all eligible citizens are included in the electoral database ahead of the publication of the final electoral roll.
