Lok Sabha elections 2024: Party Congress comes back stronger

Lok Sabha election 2024 results are out, BJP won maximum number of 272 seats but opponent Congress has made a strongest come back by doubling number of seats to 232 seats this year.

Congress leader Gaurav Gogoi hailing from Assam, snatches Jorhat seat from the ruling BJP by defeating Topon Kumar Gogoi with a margin of 1,44,393 votes.

BJP MLA Mrinal Saikia who is to join the saffron party taking a dig at his party congratulated Gaurav Gogoi through a social media post, “Special congratulations to @GauravGogoiAsm for your amazing win. This result is very significant in Jorhat in many ways. The outcome proved that – Money, Big Publicity, Over Doses of Leaders and Arrogant Speeches does not always help to win elections.”
