Households in Mizoram will receive piped natural gas (PNG) by the first half of 2028, as part of the Centre’s energy expansion programme. The 119.5-km gas pipeline, laid by Indradhanush Gas Grid Limited (IGGL) under the Northeast Natural Gas Pipeline project, has reached 45% completion and is set to be finished by December 2027. This pipeline will connect Mizoram to the national gas grid, significantly enhancing the state's energy infrastructure.
