Tuberculosis Deaths in Mizoram Hit Six-Year High

According to official data issued under the National TB Elimination Programme (NTEP) of the National Health Mission, Mizoram recorded up to 145 tuberculosis-related deaths in 2025, the highest number in the previous six years. 2,275 individuals, including 911 women, had a TB diagnosis throughout the year. Mizoram Lokayukta registers 20 corruption complaints in 2024- 25

Mizoram Lokayukta has registered 20 corruption-related complaint during 2024-2025.The Sixth Annual Report mentioned that of these complaints, six were referred for preliminary inquiry. Since its establishment in March 2019, the Mizoram Lokayukta has registered 91 cases as of January 8, 2026. Of these, 58 have been disposed of, with 33 remaining under preliminary inquiry and investigation. Over the period, eight preliminary inquiry reports were received, five cases were disposed of, and two persons were convicted in one case. Mizoram issues advisory for precautionary measures amid cold waves

Amidst a cold wave gripping the state, Mizoram has issued a public advisory in regard to precautions to be taken with minimum temperatures in several districts dipping considerably to between 4 and 8 degrees Celsius.
