Money placed in flat in my absence: Partha Chatterjee aide Arpita Mukherjee on seized cash

Partha Chatterjee’s aide Arpita Mukherjee on Tuesday said, “The money does now not belong to me, it was stored there in my absence”. The ED had previously recovered more than Rs 50 crores in money from her homes in Kolkata.

Former West Bengal minister Partha Chatterjee and Arpita Mukherjee were despatched to ED custody until August 3.

Chatterjee is involved in an alleged recruitment scam of Group ā€˜Cā€™ and ā€˜Dā€™ staff, Assistant Teachers of training IX-XII and essential teachers.

Meanwhile, the probe corporation is conducting raids at four locations in connection with the teacher recruitment scam. According to sources, the ED is conducting a raid on a flat in Fort Oasis housing complex after it obtained files and facts about the flat while questioning Arpita.
