‘NDA acknowledges work of all PMs’: PM Modi on new museum next to Nehru Museum

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today urged BJP MPs to take up several programs from its foundation day on April 6 as part of “Samajik Nyaya Pakhwada” (a fortnight dedicated to social justice) and emphasized that it is the only ruling birthday party. Every prime minister’s contribution has been considered by building a museum to honor it.

With the birth anniversary of Constitution architect BR Ambedkar on April 14, PM Modi at the BJP’s parliamentary party rally asked MPs celebrating the birthday to highlight the people, especially the underprivileged sections of the society like Scheduled Castes. Quoting him, Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal advised reporters that Prime Minister Modi has asked MPs to work to spread awareness about the central government’s welfare schemes for housing, food and free grains.

With a museum dedicated to all former prime ministers of India inaugurated on April 14, Prime Minister Modi delivered his speech from the ramparts of the Red Fort on August 15 in which he praised their contributions.


“He said we are the only ones to mention the contribution of former prime ministers, irrespective of the celebration they hail from,” said a BJP MP.

The BJP has often accused the Congress, which has dominated us for a long time, when you consider that independence, of glorifying the Prime Ministers of its ruling Nehru-Gandhi family while ignoring others.

BJP MP Vinay Sahasrabuddhe said, “This is a true democratization of nationwide recognition and famous expressions of gratitude to all our former prime ministers.”

Inaugurating the museum on BR Ambedkar’s foundation anniversary is a recognition of the democratic architecture he gave to the country, said PM Modi, who heads every birthday celebration.

PM Modi also said that the birth anniversary of the said social reformer Jyoti Rao Phule falls on April 11.

An exhibition on India’s freedom movement was also held at the Ambedkar International Centre, the venue of the meeting, where Prime Minister Modi arrived earlier than his scheduled start.


The Prime Minister requested them to take individual measures to help people. He suggested that MNREGA cash could be used to build ponds dedicated to the ongoing ‘Azadi Ka Amrita Mohotsav’.
