Nestlé Reaffirms Quality Standards After Maggi Infestation Claims

FMCG major Nestlé India has rejected allegations circulating on social media regarding the presence of infestation in Maggi noodles, stating that laboratory tests on both reference and market samples have confirmed the product meets all quality and food safety standards.

In a clarification submitted to stock exchanges, the company said it was informed of the complaint by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) following concerns raised through an unverified account on the social media platform X.

Nestlé India categorically denied the allegations, stating that no sample had been received from the complainant for verification and that the account in question remained unreachable. As part of standard procedure, the company said the reference sample from the same batch was tested at an independent FSSAI-notified and NABL-accredited laboratory, which found it free from any infestation.

The company further said it conducted additional quality checks on both batch and market samples, all of which confirmed compliance with stringent food safety norms.

Nestlé added that it has already submitted detailed quality records, batch data, and test reports to the FSSAI in response to its fact-finding inquiry and reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining strict quality standards and transparency with regulators.
