Netradyne partners NHEV to boost safety and intelligence on India’s e-highways

Netradyne, a global provider of AI-powered fleet safety and performance technology, has partnered with National Highways for Electric Vehicles (NHEV) to strengthen the intelligence and safety framework of India’s emerging Electronic Highway network aimed at supporting long-distance electric mobility. Under the collaboration, Netradyne’s AI-driven solutions will be deployed in phases across connected commercial electric vehicles operating on NHEV-supported corridors. The technology will provide real-time fleet visibility, predictive risk detection, driver behaviour analytics and operational monitoring, helping create a safer and more reliable EV transportation ecosystem across national highways.

NHEV is working to transform India’s highways into Electronic Highways and plans to expand its network across 26 highway corridors by 2027. The initiative integrates charging infrastructure, energy management, digital systems, financing support and operational services to build a commercially viable long-distance EV ecosystem. NHEV Program Director Abhijeet Sinha said the project aims to ensure uninterrupted movement of essential goods during disruptions such as supply chain crises, lockdowns or global oil shocks. He added that the electronic layer would improve driver safety, reduce accidents and enhance operational reliability for freight operators.

In Howrah, the initiative is expected to support logistics operators and transport businesses that rely on highway connectivity for cargo movement across eastern India. Improved fleet monitoring, safer journeys and higher vehicle uptime could enhance operational efficiency and encourage greater adoption of commercial EVs in the region. Netradyne Senior Vice President Durgadutt Nedungadi said the company’s AI platform would help detect driver fatigue, unsafe behaviour and vehicle distress at an early stage, making long-haul EV operations safer and more dependable. The collaboration is also expected to contribute policy recommendations for India’s broader connected mobility and transport infrastructure goals.
