Coal transportation growth: 34% increases in FY25

New Delhi, June 5 State-owned CIL on Thursday said eco-friendly coal transportation grew 34 percent year-on-year to 102.5 million tonnes in FY25. This was made possible through 20 First Mile Connectivity (FMC) projects connected to the Indian Railways network. In comparison, it was 76.5 MT through 17 such projects in FY24, Coal India Ltd (CIL) said in a statement. Aluminium futures prices increase on speculators’ bets

New Delhi, June 4 Aluminium prices rose by Rs 2.05 to Rs 242.55 per kg in the futures market on Wednesday as speculators created fresh deals amid a positive trend in the spot market. The price of aluminium contract for July delivery rose by Rs 2.05, or 0.85 per cent, to Rs 242.55 per kg on the Multi Commodity Exchange in a business turnover of 415 lots. Analysts said fresh bets by traders amid demand from consumer industries supported aluminium prices in the futures market.

Cottonseed cake futures prices gain on higher demand

New Delhi, Cottonseed cake prices rose by Rs 14 to Rs 2,987 per quintal in futures trading on Monday as speculators created fresh deals amid higher demand. The price of cottonseed cake contract for June delivery on NCDEX rose by Rs 14 or 0.47 percent to Rs 2,987 per quintal in which 84,000 lots were traded. Market sources said cottonseed cake prices rose mainly due to participants increasing the size of their deals amid rising demand for animal feed.

Apollo Hospitals Q4 net profit jump 54%; plans ₹8,000 crore for expansion

Apollo Hospitals Enterprise on Friday reported that consolidated profit after tax for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2025 grew 54% year-on-year to ₹390 crore, driven by strong sales. The healthcare provider had reported a profit after tax (PAT) of ₹254 crore in the fourth quarter of FY24. Silver futures prices jump: Rs 363 rises to Rs 97,838 per kg

New Delhi: Silver prices rose by Rs 363 to Rs 97,838 per kg in May futures trade on Wednesday as participants increased their bets. At the Multi Commodity Exchange, the price of silver contracts for July delivery rose by Rs 363, or 0.37 percent, to Rs 97,838 per kg in a business turnover of 17,752 lots. Crude oil futures gain on spot demand

New Delhi, May 27: Crude oil prices rose by Rs 11 to Rs 5,266 per barrel in futures trade on Tuesday as participants increased their bets due to strong spot demand. Crude oil prices for June delivery rose by Rs 11, or 0.21 percent, to Rs 5,266 per barrel on the Multi Commodity Exchange in a business turnover of 11,624 lots. Analysts said crude oil prices rose in futures trade as participants raised bets. Globally, West Texas Intermediate crude oil prices rose 0.11 percent to $61.60 per barrel, while Brent crude oil prices rose 0.17 percent to $64.85 per barrel.

Silver futures fell on reduced bets

New Delhi, May 26: Silver prices fell by Rs 57 to Rs 97,997 per kg on Monday as participants reduced bets. Silver contracts for July delivery on the Multi Commodity Exchange fell by Rs 57, or 0.06 percent, to Rs 97,997 per kg in a business turnover of 17,276 lots. Analysts said selling by participants at current levels in the market mainly influenced silver prices. Foreign futures markets remained closed on the occasion of Memorial Day in the US.

Property prices increase in 48 cities in Q4 FY25: NHB RESIDEX

New Delhi, May 24 Property prices rose in 48 out of 50 cities during the fourth quarter of 2024-25, according to data released by the National Housing Bank (NHB). Out of the 50 cities covered, two cities, Howrah and Thiruvananthapuram, recorded a decline in property prices, the latest NHB RESIDEX residential housing price index said.
