No Shortage Ahead: Tripura Govt Ensures Adequate Fuel and LPG Availability

Tripura’s Minister for Food and Civil Supplies, Sushanta Chowdhury, affirmed on Wednesday that the state is not experiencing a shortage of petrol, diesel, or LPG cylinders. Following a review meeting with petroleum dealers and LPG distributors, he emphasized the adequate stock levels of these fuels and urged the public to remain calm, highlighting that Tripura’s supply situation is favorable. To ensure consistent supply, the procurement timeline for LPG has been standardized to 25 days for urban areas and 45 days for rural ones, in accordance with central government guidelines. The minister also underscored the necessity of public awareness to combat misinformation regarding fuel availability and instructed officials to monitor for hoarding and black marketing of cooking gas cylinders.
