TTAADC Elections: Candidates Wrap Up Nomination Filing Process

Nomination filing by candidates for the crucial Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) elections concluded on Wednesday evening.
Candidates of various political parties including BJP, Tipra Motha, CPI (M), Congress, IPFT and other small regional party submitted their nomination papers to the sub-divisional magistrate’s offices in all the eight districts of the state.
By virtue of power, the Sub Divisional Magistrates are the returning officers for the TTADC elections. The TTADC polls will be held on April 12. Scrutiny of nominations will be held tomorrow, whereas, the last date of withdrawal is March 28.
In the Longtharai valley of Dhalai district, Chief Minister Professor Manik Saha participated in a roadshow in support of party nominees Bipin Debbarma, who is the party’s state general secretary, Sukesh Dutta Barua and Esmel Joy Tripura.
Bipin Debbarma has been fielded by the BJP from Demchhara–Kachuchhara constituency,
Speaking to mediapersons later, the Chief Minister said a glimpse of how elections should be conducted in a democratic manner has been witnessed. Saha expressed hope that the BJP would emerge victorious in the ADC elections.
The Chief Minister also took part in a rally in Ambassa, organised in connection with the nomination filing of BJP candidate Bimal Debbarma contesting from Kulai–Champahour constituency.
