DMC prohibits cruelty on animals: Nagaland

Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) has informed everyone that torturing, overloading, causing unnecessary pain or suffering to any animal, carrying either in or upon any vehicle in such manner subjected to unnecessary pain or suffering has been prohibited.  In this regard, DMC administration Albert Ezung informed that the DMC in coordination with State Animal Welfare Advisory Board Nagaland (SAWAB-N) and Society for Prevention of Cruelty of Animals (SPCA) will be keeping strict vigil on any one dealing in any inhumane manner to animals as endorsed by SAWAB-N, will be prosecuted as per the provision of the act.  DMC informed that the…

Live grenade in Imphal AR transit camp

Barely two days after a bomb attack that injured a security personnel on sentry duty, a live Chinese hand grenade was found lying inside the transit camp of Assam Rifles in Imphal on Friday morning. The hand grenade was found near a water reservoir inside the camp around 8 am on Friday.  Personnel of state police bomb detection and disposal squad retrieved the hand grenade after defusing it. A student pressure group in Manipur on Thursday demanded a special law with individuals and officials involved in misconducts in examinations by categorically awarding penalty , a long pending demand of the student bodies.
