Jailed rights activist Akhil Gogoi on Monday submitted nomination papers for the Sivasagar and Mariani Assembly constituencies from the Gauhati Medical College Hospital (GMCH). Gogoi is the president of Raijor Dal, a new regional party formed almost at the same time as its ally, Assam Jatiya Parishad (AJP) six months ago. Manipur reported yet another death of a COVID-19 frontline worker after an anganwadi worker died allegedly after receiving COVID-19 vaccine. The state had earlier reported the death of a woman frontline worker, that too, an anganwadi worker in Bishnupur district on February 19 last, a week after she received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine.
