CHF distributes sanitary napkins to school girls: Nagaland

As part of the charity campaign for menstrual hygiene education, the Child Help Foundation (CHF) distributed sanitary pads to the school girls of Ghokito village, Dimapur on February 27.  The foundation also educated the middle school and higher school girls and their mother on the proper usage and disposal of sanitary pads as well. Liquor to be cheaper in Meghalaya

The Meghalaya Cabinet on Friday reduced the Value Added Tax (VAT) on various brands of liquor by bringing it down from 40 per cent to 37.5 per cent as well as do away with the 25 per cent lifting charges.  Excise Minister Kyrmen Shylla said that the decision to reduce VAT would not affect the revenue generation, because the volume of sales would increase after the price of liquor has come down. CROW conducts checking of illegal trade practices: Nagaland

Consumer Rights Organisation Wokha (CROW) accompanied by Lotha Students’ Union (LSU) and Lotha Youth Hoho conducted extensive checking at sand stockists within Wokha town on February 23, 2021. A press release by media cell, CROW stated that during the checking a total of 20 shovels were seized at sand stockists/sales in Wokha town.
