NSCN (I-M), DVC condemn raid by Assam Rifles

NSCN (I-M) has expressed resentment over the recent raid on the residence of Kishore Jeedung of Dhansiripar village on February 10. NSCN (I-M) through its MIP stated that the “freewheeling nature of operations by the ubiquitous Assam Rifles (AR) targeting NSCN” was becoming an eye sore of the Indo-Naga ceasefire. 1 held for duping people in Kohima, Nagaland

A 24-year old has been arrested by Kohima police for duping people with promise of jobs in police department. The arrested person has been identified as Ravozo Medeo, a resident of Mission Compound, Kohima, PRO, DEF Kohima said in a statement. Preliminary investigation revealed that the accused issued fake appointment letters with forged signatures of certain high ranking officer at PHQ and that of SP of a district.  In this connection, a case was registered at North Police Station and further investigation is on. Sri Lanka’s Election Commission Chairman Nimal Punchihewa on Monday refuted claims of India’s ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) planning to set up a political unit in Sri Lanka. Manipur’s all-women run markets reopen after 11 months

After almost 11 months, Ima markets (all women run markets) in the heart of Manipur’s capital city reopened on Monday for resumption of normal business activities. The three multi-storey market-sheds remained closed following an order of the state government on March 21 last year. Medziphema: Second dose of vaccination began at Community Health Center (CHC), Medziphema on February 15, where SMO Dr. Nosezol Sezo and 27 beneficiaries received the first vaccine shots on January 18 were administered for the second dose.
