On camera, Patna bureaucrat thrashes protesting job aspirant holding national flag

Hundreds of aspirants for teachers’ posts protested the prolongation of their recruitment by baton-charging the police in Bihar’s capital Patna on Monday. A video of the protest has gone viral, showing a bureaucrat beating a protester to the ground.

Once there was a protest at the Dak Bangla intersection in Patna. In the video, the official, identified as KK Singh, Additional District Magistrate of Patna, can be seen dragging the man and beating him as he crouches on the floor and holds the national flag in his hand. The flag was later confiscated by the police.

A large number of police forces were present at the scene and used water cannons to disperse the protesters. Candidates who skipped CTET, and BTET were among the protestors who were disturbing the primary teacher recruitment notification.

Agitating candidates said that they are ready for recruitment because 2019. For the last 3 years, the only assurance has been from the government, the protesters said.

One of the protestors said that before the formation of the government, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav had said that the appointment process would begin in the first cabinet. But nothing has happened so far.
