Petrol-powered bikes will be banned in Delhi. From now on, petrol-driven bikes will no longer be registered; instead, only electric bikes will be registered. The Delhi government has confirmed this decision.
Under the Delhi Electric Vehicle Policy 2.0, the registration of petrol-powered two-wheelers will be banned from April 1, 2028. Despite pushback from the industry, the government has not changed its stance. This policy will be presented to the cabinet next week and is expected to be officially notified before the end of June 2026.
